Demi Détourné
Demi Détourné is similar to the Détourné but is for a half turn rather than a full turn.
A demi détourné is a small turning movement that turns the body halfway around. It is closely related to the détourné, which is a full turn, but demi means “half,” so the dancer rotates only a half turn instead of a complete one. Usually it is done on the balls of the feet or on pointe, with the feet drawing together as the body turns to face the opposite direction. Dancers often use a demi détourné to change which way they are facing and to switch which foot is in front, linking one step neatly to the next.
